Nuclear Fission Process
n + U-235 → Ba-141 + Kr-92 + 3n + Energy
A neutron is absorbed by a uranium-235 nucleus, making it unstable. The nucleus splits into two lighter nuclei (barium-141 and krypton-92) that fly apart at angles. Three additional neutrons and a large amount of energy are released.
